Spain remains a fantastic holiday destination and there are an abundance of Spanish holiday offers to choose from. In fact Spain is still at the top of the holiday league for Europeans. They are also said to enjoy the highest quality of life amongst their neighbours. There is a wide range of rental property and hotels that will ensure that you can find the ideal place to stay in Spain for your holiday.

The climate of Spain offers the visitor hot summers and very mild winters with many southern cities seeing some 320 days of sunshine per year. In fact the long dry summers are a perfect way to enjoy a villa with a pool for everyone to keep cool.

Getting there. Many budget airlines now offer spectacular deals from the UK and Europe into smaller airports throughout Spain. Ryanair, Easyjet and Flybe should all be checked out. If you book tickets early enough and over the Internet there are some amazing deals to be had. Do watch out for the luggage allowances though as they can be very restrictive. A good tip is to try and fly mid week as these flights tend to be even cheaper.

For those with children or if you want to enjoy a little more privacy, villa rentals can often work out cheaper than the hotel option in Spain. Villas are also available with stunning mountainside views and many are set in the countryside. If you are a large group, the villa option is also advantageous in that you can often find villas sleeping 12 or more. Self catering means that you are free to eat when you are hungry and sleep when you are tired! It also gives you a chance to sample the abundance of fine Spanish restaurants that are sure to be on hand. This is an ideal option if you have any member of your family with special dietary needs.

As ever, reserving well in advance will often give you the best deal and ensure peace of mind that your holiday is booked. There are Spanish holiday offers throughout the year and if you avoid the peak summer months, there are often bargains to be had. You have the added advantage of missing the large summer crowds as well. If you do intend to visit Spain in the winter, then an early booking is essential as many properties are not available during the colder season.

There are two ways to rent a villa in Spain. You can use a broker or rent directly from a property owner. The broker may charge a higher rate, but there are certain advantages. They usually have partners throughout Spain which enable on site repairs and maintenance if something goes wrong and in extreme circumstances could even be able to move you to another villa if necessary.

A great tip once you have made your choice is to call and speak with either the property owner or the broker so that you can feel comfortable that there is someone who can speak your language and that there will be help on hand when you get there should it be required.

Don't forget that apart from mainland Spain there are the coastal areas of the Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca as well as the Balearic and Canary Islands. If you are looking for a slightly different pace to your holiday these places are well worth checking out as well. The Canary Islands are renowned for sunshine all year round and also have superb beaches. Gran Canaria and Tenerife make super destinations for winter golfing holidays for example. Gran Canaria alone has 5 first class courses to choose from. Expect to pay around €50 for a round of golf.

As with any foreign travel, prepare well, do your research and you will find plenty of Spanish holiday offers throughout the Internet to give you the holiday of a lifetime. You may initially be surprised at the number of packages and offers available but you will soon be able to narrow it down to a few.
